We hope that this guide has helped answer any questions that you have about surviving your first week here. Rush is still far off, and we realize that you're probably not too concerned yet, but it's never too early to get a head start. During the summer, we'll have some roof fests at the house, and maybe some brothers in your area will have a party. And, if this book has caught your interest, please come visit during Rush week -- we'd love to meet you!

If you have any questions, feel free to call the house here in Boston (yes, call collect!) at (617) 437-7795. Ask for Stuart Laval. Or e-mail any questions to estock@mit.edu.

FAREWELLS...

Bryan Perryman `01 Keystone Heights, FLMathematics and Management

Did you see that movie Mr. Baseball? It featured Tom Sellick taking time off from Major League Baseball to play in Japan. Bryan's life is very similar. Back in high school, he was a baseball player. He was good, and he was the captain. Now, he's a tall, white guy surrounded by small Asians, and he is one of the top player's on MIT's team. He has only returned to the sport after a three-year stint of double majoring and leading the House to intramural glory. This may be his last time at the plate because he is headed to "greener" pastures in L.A., working at the consulting firm, McKinsey & Co.

Andrew Chen `01 Rolling Hills Estates, CAComputer Science and Management

Assistant Professor - Position Available Immediately
Department of Applied Macking, MIT (Course 69)

Looking for individual to continue research program of retiring Professor Andrew Chen, who is selling-out for the more lucrative business world. Duties include pimpin', hustlin', and instruction in the field of `Macking.' Only candidates with consistently excellent records need apply. This position is tenure track, with access to excellent `laboratory resources' and Professor Chen's contacts among the finest `research subjects' that MIT, Wellesley, and Harvard have to offer. The ideal candidate will continue Professor Chen's ground-breaking work and extend it to non-Korean population groups. Please bring evidence of past achievement, and a brief summary of future goals, to Phi Kappa Theta at MIT Rush 2001.

Dave Allmon '01 Midland, TXMechanical Engineering

Dave is a mild-mannered Texan on the road to success. His Mech. E. degree has led to a high paying job in Sunnyvale, CA with HP. His years of playing trombone have allowed him to be first chair of the MIT symphony orchestra when he feels like it, which is never, and to play professionally with the Hingham Symphony, which is on par with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Does he do this to attract the women? Perhaps, but so far, his steady girlfriend left the country, and since then he hasn't found anything to toot his horn.
