Congratulations on your acceptance and decision to attend MIT. This is one decision you will not regret. MIT and the Boston area provide the ideal environment for learning, not only about academics, but also about friendship and about yourself.

Soon you will have the opportunity to join one of MIT's forty living groups. The following two pages will give you an idea of what being a member of Phi Kappa Theta is like. Obviously, mere pictures and words are not sufficient to capture our everyday life. You have to come to our house and talk to the brothers to get a real sense of what Phi Kappa Theta is all about. If you see something that interests you, give us a call, come to a summer rush party, and visit us during Rush. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your summer, and we'll see you soon.

Home is where the Brotherhood is

One block away is the world famous Newbury Street, and a short walk brings you to Fenway Park, Boston Common, the Boston Public Library, as well as countless clubs and restaurants. Also, with the Copley T station two blocks away, all of Boston can be reached in minutes. Oh yeah, and MIT is only a five minute bike ride away. Home is where the Brotherhood is.

With a little help from my friends

PKT is an introduction to people, opinions, hobbies, and places that a person doesn't normally come across by himself. Our house is a collection of individuals united not by a common interest in sports or partying, but by friendship and brotherhood. Phi Kappa Theta is more than a place to live, it is a place to call home. The friendships made here last a lifetime.

Senior Class Trip to Hawaii.
Since there are only 35 of us, no one ever gets lost in the crowd, and it is easy for everyone to get to know each other. At the same time, there are enough of us that there is always someone to hang out with, discuss politics or sports, or take a weekend trip to New York City.

We got the Good Vibrations...

Party over here!
At PKT, we recognize the need to take a break from MIT.

Vu shows off our guests.
After all, there is more to college than academics. To help us enjoy these college years, we fill our social calendar with a variety of activities. With Friday "Social Hours," open parties, bi-annual semi-formals, barbeques, and beach trips rounding out our social calendar, there is never a lack of things to do. We also have our share of Varisty Athletes and have won championships in several Intramural Sports, from basketball to softball to tennis.

If I pledge, will it suck?

Pledge PKT and you will
get a free Big Brother.
So, you may be asking yourself, "What will my life be like if I pledge PKT?" Maybe you're not, but we'll tell you anyway. We incorporate freshmen into our house through a program designed to familiarize pledges with the house, MIT, and the Boston area. As part of the pledge program, each member of the pledge class will select a big brother, who helps them adjust to life at the house

and MIT. Additionally, pledges are responsible for organizing a party, a pledge trip, and other activities which will enable them to grow closer to each other and to the rest of the house. Our goal is to make our incoming members feel at home in the house, while developing a sense of pride in the fraternity and themselves, ultimately becoming men we are proud to call brothers.
