Hello,

Due to problems with the video projector in 1-390, the
IAP class "Introduction to UNIX Software Development"
has been rescheduled. The new schedule is:

	Session 1: Monday January 22, 1996 from 4-6pm in Room 3-133

	Session 2: Thursday January 25, 1996 from 4-6pm in Room 3-133

Note the change in room, date, and time. There will NOT
be a class today (Thursday January 18th).

The course slides/outline are available on the web at:

http://www.mit.edu:8001/afs/sipb/project/iap/unixsoftdev/www/index.html

They're still not totally complete so you mant to wait until
after the class until looking at them.

The list of topics to be covered:

	Monday
	------
	Introduction
	The Compilation Process
	Writing Programs Using Multiple Files
	The C Preprocessor
	Debugging Code with GDB

	Thursday
	--------
	Makefiles
RCS - The Revision Control System
	Emacs as a Development Environment
	Additional Topics if Time Permits

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
I'll send out email if there are any further updates.

	Erik Nygren

PS, for those who are interested, I called MIT A/V and they say the
projector in 1-390 is broken and is waiting for parts which are on
back order. Having a projector brought in would cost $92 per evening.
The time the course has been rescheduled to is the only time that a
room with a projector and Athena workstation are available.
