Hey there---

David Maze's mail reminded me of something you should know about
scheduling.

*Everybody* prefers early evening. Many find later in the evening
acceptable; I've often made good use of classrooms by booking the
room from 5 or 6 to 11 (which I think is as late they'll officially
schedule), with one class from 6 to 8 and another from 8 to 10.
(I seem to recall once even having 5 to 7, 7 to 9, and 9 to 11
in the same room). If you do that, make sure the instructor in
the earlier block really figures on 90 minute or so sesssions;
you don't want one class forcing another out of the room if it
runs a few minutes long. Also I tend to think longer series are
better choices for the later classes --- MIT students who want to
cram a new language into their heads aren't going to be much put
off by class not getting out til 10 or even 11.
