Note: this is alien's modification to jtu's original,
"how-to-suck-2004". Cuz I have no better way to punt right now.

===How to be the SIPB IAP Sucker

- Get a publicity sucker. Publicity makes or breaks IAP.
- Get a lecture series sucker.
- Don't have RSI. It really sucks.

Rough timeline

- February/ Early Sping
  o Get an IAP sucker
o Get a deputy sucker who will learn the ropes for future years
o Get a lecture series sucker
o Be on the lookout for a publicity sucker

- Spring
o Begin to solicit ideas for lecturers and classes via the zephyr
    class, email and face-to-face interactions.
o Think about the lecture series. The speaking timeline really
depends on the type of speaker you want. More well-known speakers,
or speakers from far away require greater planning and more money
(possibly large event funding.) Large-event funding applications
are due late spring, and well-known speakers should be contacted
around the same time. Speakers close to home can be contacted
    around August.

- Late Spring/Early Summer
o Allocate money for IAP based on your expected lecture
    series/class/etc requirements.

- August
o Send out pleas for help and teachers.
o See what external deadlines (MIT IAP guide) may apply
o Look for your speakers if you haven't started already

-September
o Have a rough class list
   o Have a publicity sucker
   o Send out information forms
o Continue requests for teachers and help
o Create and submit LSC slides for fall term

- Beginning of October
o Room reservations open! Reserve early for good rooms.
o Receive all (most?) information forms
   o Make a rough calendar
    - Schedule Crash Courses and popular classes first
    - Remember to secretly pad the schedule; people will have ideas
for classes or scheduling changes late in the game. Be prepared.

- End of October
   o Make posters for classes

- November
o Rev up the publicity engine
o Make a "SIPB IAP Guide" for paper distribution (Lobby 10?)
  o Relax a bit

- December
  o Advertise, advertise, advertise
  o More LSC slides
  o Put up IAP posters
  o Tech ad
  o Infinite corridor slideshow

- January
  o Advertise, advertise, advertise
o Purchase lecture series speaker gifts
o Deal with conflicts as they arise, and update scheduling information
