Computers

• The MIT Computer Graphics Society was created with the intention of providing student and MIT community members with the ability to work on artistic projects on computers. Their current efforts are in the area of computer graphics and animation.

• The Center for Educational Computing Initiatives (CECI)
• Participatory Design in Computing involves a group of people, several of us here at MIT, many others at Xerox PARC, Aarhus University in Denmark and elsewhere. Our work involves users in the analysis, design and organizational implementation of new technologies and work practices.

• The MIT Communications Forum and the Media In Transition Program are committed to bringing together exciting dialogue between media and computers. We offer lectures, seminars, and conferences on a variety of topics. See our web site for a listing of events.

• Athena Consultants are numerous volunteers, paid workers and staff who answer all kinds of questions about the Athena computer system and supported software.
• The MIT Computer Connection provides the MIT community with access to the highest quality mainstream microcomputer and workstation products and services at the lowest possible prices.
• The Student Information Processing Board provides MIT with a variety of computing services and promotes the use of computing resources at MIT, including this WWW server.

• The NetBSD-Athena user's group provides help with using NetBSD on Athena. NetBSD is a free operating system based on 4.4BSD-lite, which runs on various machines.
• The OS/2 user's group, for users of IBM's OS/2 operating system, which currently runs on the Intel platform.
