Centers and Galleries
- The Arts at MIT
contains general MIT arts information and publications.
- The Edgerton Gallery
of photography is being compiled by the MIT
Edergton Center in collaboration with The Tech.
- The List Visual Arts Center
explores the most contemporary art
making in all media: painting, sculpture, photography, video,
installations, architecture and design, and experimental works
that resist easy classification.
- The MIT Museum
is an extensive collection of art, artifacts, drawings,
photographs, and instruments documenting MIT's role in 19th-
and 20th-century science and technology.
- The Jerome B. Wiesner Student Art Gallery,
located on the second floor of the Stratton Student Center
exhibits student art thoughout the year.
Comedy
Dance
- The
MIT Ballroom Dance Club offers weekly lessons at all skill
levels; neither experience nor partner are necessary. The MIT
Ballroom Dance Team is a dedicated group of competitive dancers.

- MIT Chamak. MIT's
Indian fusion dance team.
- The MIT
Dance
Troupeoffers classes in Ballet, Modern, Funk, Tap and Jazz,
and sponsors a performance of student-choreographed works each term.

MIT Folk Dance Club sponsors three weekly dances and a
performing group, Vinovana.

Fine Arts and Crafts
- The
MIT
Hobby Shop is both a woodworking and metal shop open to all members
of the MIT community.
- The Tech Community
Crafters is an interest group raising funds for the MIT Women's
League scholarship fund through craft fairs held in lobby 10.
Music
Theatre
- The Black
Theatre Guild is MIT's newest theater group on campus. We are
dedicated to performing and producing culturally specific plays for
the community.
- The MIT Community
Players is a group of staff, alumni, students, and
others interested in doing (non-musical) drama and
comedies at MIT.
- The
MIT Dramashop is a theatre group that produces 2 full-scaled
plays and one evening of student-written student-directed
one-acts each year. It is a student run co-curricular theatre
organization.
- The
MIT Gilbert & Sullivan Players perform the works of the
British duo, Sir W. S. Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan, as well
as related works. It is a student-run extra-curricular theatre
organization.
- The
MIT Musical Theatre Guild is a theatre group that produces
four full-scale musicals each year. It is a student run
extra-curricular theatre organization.
- The
MIT Shakespeare Ensemble is a theatre ensemble dedicated to
producing the works of William Shakespeare and other playwrights.
