remind me again, ... are we trying to deliberately turn this into robotech
or are we trying to keep the flavor of a magic fortunes and fantasy world?

From now on, keep this in mind. 

As for what the Citadel was, I'm not sure the Justive should have found 
out yet. To them, the Citadel of God, or whatever you want to call it
should have been as wonderous and worrisome and totally alien as a space
craft from the Martian might be to us.

Here's a pre-draft on the time lines I sort of have.

~10,000 P.D. (Pre-Delic)	Arrival of Sinari Space Ark. Over 1,000,000 
				colonists disembark to settle the world. The
				Ark remains in orbit, bringing he Sinari back
				aboard on occassion to reempower itself.
10,000-9,500			The Sinari work to build up a colony on their 
				new world, teaching some of the natives (who
				oddly enough are even like the Sinari) their
				ways and harnessing the immense magical power
				for their use.

~9,500 P.D. 			God war over Eos. Over 400 Gods of various 
				pantheons struggle for the power that is 
				contained in Eos. The Ark is damaged, it's
				contact with the Colony is lost. Most of the 
				colonists are killed by the Dark gods in their
				first rampage.

				The Ark cloaks itself magically and psionically
				in order to escape the same fate as its
				colony

~8,500 P.D.			End of the God War. The Exile of the Seven
				Dark Gods the creation of the Compact.

8,159				Founding of the Church of the One True God
				on Eos. 

5,000 P.D.			After four and a half Millenia without contact
				with any of its Sinari crew or descendants, the
				Ark shuts down all non-essential functions but
				maintains its cloaking.
5,000 P.D.			Empire of Coluse rises in what will become the 
				Empire of of Delic. Tyrannical dictatorship.
				Much smaller than Delic, but still one of the 
				First empires. 

5000-0				Dukedoms and other city states rise and
				fall over and over again.

0				Empire of Delic is created by Khelidar.

5788 D.R.			Talin Denethor Cayneek, with his wife and child
				are assassinated by the Black Hand.
				Close to 3,000,000 Imperial troops vanish 
				overnight. They are placed by God aboard the 
				Sinari Ark.
				Cain Dunsmore is named Regent of Delic.

5801				Battle of Crene's Pass. 

5829				Arrival of the Four Avatars. 
5829-5831			The Justive and their allies pursue the 
				Avatars. Their death releases a magical storm
				over the world that awakens the Ark's 
				Sentience. This magical computer realizes that
				it now holds over 3,000,000 sentients in its
				once empty holds and stasis bays. It holds its
				first conversation with one of God's avatars,
				about the situation below. It explains its 
				history and mission. the Avatar withdraws to
				ponder the mystery of the Sinari Race. When it
				returns, it provides the Ark with no other 
				answers than "A warlord of tremendous strength
				of sinew, soul and mind will rise below,...
				he is of Sinari virtue and will aid you."
5831				Conclave formed.
5845				The Black Hand is discovered to be under the 
				control of psi's. The Justive begins hunting
				any who have psi abils.
5856				the Justice stumble across the Ark. Unsure of 
				what to call it (the Ark itself is now far too
				weak to answer) they name it the Citadel of 
				Heaven. They discover it holds the missing 
				Imperial Legions.
5913				Cainlan Cayneek ascends the Throne.
				The Imperial Legions reappear, seemingly from
				nowhere. Cayneek and the Justive know better.

				the Mystery of the Citadel remains unsolved
					for the moment.

				
Other Random Info: The Sinari were human, but were also powerful psionics. 
		(ie- take average psionicist character in AD&D and multiply by
		4 to 10) They colonized Eos before the Gods War, but were 
		mostly killed off in the first strike by the Dark Gods. Many
		of the other races (human, elf and dwarf) had had at least 
		_some_ interbreeding with the Sinari by the time of the 
		Gods War. Therefore some of the Sinari blood survived. Some 
		Sinari survived, but again, by the time of the Delic story,
		(15,000 years later) a pure breed Sinari is non-existent.

		Psionics are a very good indication of Sinari heritage. While
		other races had psionics, it wasn't as developed. Strong 
		Psionics are almost definitely Sinari in descent, and if they
		aren't it won't matter to the Ark, it needs only a powerful 
		Psi to control and reempower itself.

		Sinari artifacts survive in the form of magical artifacts. 
		Many of the ancient magical weapons that people think are
		god or demon fashioned were in fact created by the Sinari.
		However, the Sinari had long since forgotten their culture 
		and their magic. If there are any alive who can even realize
		what a Sinari is, they know it only as legend and myth, and 
		rather sketchy ones at that. However, the Black Hand is making
		it a point now, to study the said myths.
