A method for controlling accesses to resources of a communication network
wherein at least two criteria are selected from the transmission-oriented
and switching-oriented properties of resources of a communication network
and time-division multiplex-oriented sub-resources are allocated with at
least one criterion to network termination units arranged in the
communication network. A waiting list is provided for each criterion
wherein access requests to the sub-resources are allocated dependent on
the selected criteria of the corresponding waiting list. The access to the
corresponding sub-resources is granted by cyclical processing of the
waiting lists wherein advantageously prioritized data streams are handled.
