Wingz for Linux
---------------

Wingz 2.1 is the current release of Wingz (soon to be available on Linux)
and IISC has decided to offer the 1.4.2 release for Linux as shareware.
(Please read the file "SHAREWARE" carefully for more information on
shareware.)

Wingz 1.4.2 for Linux is a fully functional release of Wingz 1.x and
as such is fully compatible with all other non-realtime versions of
Wingz 1.x.

Fixes and Changes in 1.4.2
==========================

The main reason for releasing Wingz 1.4.2 for Linux was to maintain
compatibility with the latest versions of Linux - in particular ELF
support.

At the same time all major reported problems with Wingz 1.4.1d were
fixed.

Change Requests Implemented
---------------------------

L002 Create a linux ELF binary of Wingz

Wingz 1.4.2 was built using ELF libraries.

L007 Windows take up too much of the screen real estate

Passing -rationalWindowSize as an argument (or setting
the X resource "Wingz*rationalWindowSize: True") will
cause all windows to be displayed about a quarter of the
	 size of the screen.

L015 Produce a version of Wingz dynamically linked with libXm

There is a new binary $WINGZ/bin/Wingz.dynamic which is
the same as $WINGZ/bin/Wingz except the Motif library
	 is linked dynamically.

Problems Fixed
--------------

L001 The INTEREST function can core wingz with strange values

This now generates an error 24 (no convergence) with
	 invalid arguments.

L006 Wingz cores with FP exception on out of bounds calcs

Calculations that return a value larger than 1.7e308
	 now return 1.7e308.

    L008 Example files have /usr/lpp/Wingz hard-coded

The resolution utility now uses the WINGZ environment
	 variable.

L010 Linux Wingz cannot read ".slk" format files

This also fixes problems with using custom formats.

L013 Using help can core Wingz

This was a memory violation that also caused other
	 (sporadic) crashes.

    L012 Mouse movement and scrolling

Unresolved Issues
-----------------

    L003 Wingz cores if LANG=de_De.8859-1

This is not reproducible - further information on this would
	 be appreciated.

L004 Add SAVE SELECTION AS functionality

This is implemented in Wingz 2.1.

L005 highlighted cells left when moving around the sheet

This is a known problem with S3 graphics cards (displaying
dashed lines) that is fixed by using the XFree86 3.1.2E server.

L009 Better font support for linux

This is implemented in Wingz 2.1.

L011 window sizes not calculated correctly

Use -rationalWindowSize if this is a problem on your display.
