The Holy Order of Chandra Chandra is demigod of one of the 7 banished gods (or something similar) that include Gaeril Orelarn (chad forgets their `real' names. `Chandra' is a placeholder until you tell me the real name. :-). He is dedicated to the spiritual purity of combat. Priests called to the Holy Order of Chandra (and they are `called', not recruited) come from the priesthood of God at first level -- a priest entering of higher level is voluntarily reduced to 1st level, just short of attaining second level. (the monaastic order training is highly specific -- many things must be relearned) The noviates lead a highly directed life, full of rigourus training, study, and meditation (hit point bonus, warrior priest, combat bonus). The training includes unarmed, unarmored combat (unarmed combat) - in fact, most monks choose to forgo the study of traditional weapons and armor altogether (weapon restriction, armor restriction). Because of the rigorous purification of the body, the purity of mind necessary to channel Chandra's spells come later in a monk's life, and are all highly combat-oriented -- dealing mostly with directed damage, healing, and combat itself (major all, major healing, major combat, major gaurdian at first level; minor time at 3rd level; invocation/evocation at 5th; major necromantic at 9th). Along with the study of the arcane school of invocation/evocation that results in the ability to channel invocation/evocation spells at 5th level comes a partial immunity to these spells (immunity to magic: inv/evo). Notes: the unarmed combat is described more fully in the Monk section of _Spells and Magic_.
