Information Servers around MIT
MIT has many World Wide Web servers up and running. Various labs, student
groups, and even students at home have set up machines for you to browse
through. Below are a few of those servers.
- The MIT web server
is run by MIT's Information Systems. It provides academic and
administrative information about MIT and its departments, research
centers, and labs; how to apply, how to contact MIT offices, how to get
PGP, and other useful information.

- The MIT Student Information Processing Board
maintains the primary student-run WWW server, which includes MIT user
home pages, an extensive list of WWW servers at MIT (this document), MIT
Activities, some useful gateways, and more.

- The
Tech is MIT's oldest and largest newspaper. Their server
contains past issues of The Tech, including comics, and
general information.
Web Servers run by MIT students
In early 1994, MIT completed networking its dorms and independent living
groups. Here is a list of Web servers maintained by MIT students, at
home.
