Peter Child: Reviews: Tableaux II
Composed 1992, for flute doubling alto flute and piccolo, Bb clarinet doubling A, and bass clarinets, violin, cello, percussion and piano.

The Boston Globe, Wednesday March 5, 1997:

Peter Child's "Tableaux II" (1992) for six players offered cooler, more analytic pleasures. A sure but delicate hand is evident in its instrumental twinnings, its way of having its music-stuff cohere or pile up additively. Though perfectly self-sufficient it also worked as a sort of privileged glimpse into the craftsman's workshop. As must be obvious, all the performances were on a very high level. This one surely goes onto the list of 1997's best concerts.
