In 1901, a smith, sailed from Antwerp on the ship Zeeland on 3 Aug; arrived at New York on 12 Aug; last residence Essen; final destination New York City; accompanied by his brother in law Heinrich KRAUSHAAR and family. Also in 1901, Elise sailed from Antwerp on the ship Southwark on 26 Oct; arrived at New York on 4 Nov; last residence Essen; final destination Newark, New Jersey, to join her husband at 133 Belmont Avenue. In 1910, a burner at a granite works, living at Washington Pike, Scott Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, with his wife Elizabeth. (Enumerated as Augustus HARTMAN in the 1910 census.) Naturalized as a U.S. citizen on 3 Mar 1911 in the Circuit Court, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County. On 10 Mar 1911, a blacksmith, residence Carnegie, Allegheny County, applied for a U.S. passport (issued 13 Mar) to travel abroad with his wife Elizabeth; height 5'6", low forehead, medium nose and mouth, long face, black eyes and hair, dark complexion. Oct 1863, relationship not stated). On 24 Oct 1894, Helen sailed from Antwerp with her daughter Elizabeth on the ship Switzerland, arriving at Philadelphia on 8 Nov 1894; last residence Essen, Germany; destination Carnegie, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, to join her husband at Joint [Scott?], Allegheny County. In 1900, a coal miner, living at Scott Township, Allegheny County, with his wife "Ellen" and their children Elizabeth, August, and William. Naturalized as a U.S. citizen by 1901. In 1901, a miner, sailed from Antwerp on the ship Zeeland on 3 Aug with his wife Helen, their children Elisabeth, August, and Wilhelm, and his brother in law Christian HARTMANN; arrived at New York on 12 Aug; last residence and final destination Pittsburgh, Allegheny County. In 1910, a coal miner, living at Dow Avenue, Carnegie, Allegheny County, with his wife Helen, their children Ella and August, and three boarders.
