David King has been well known for some time as a brilliant photographer, designer and art editor of albums, books and journals. Having in his youth become interested in the Russian artists of the early 20th Century, in the history of the 1917 Revolution and of the Soviet Union, he has published a number of photo albums on these subjects. For over thirty years David has been putting together a unique collection of photographs, paintings, posters and illustrated books and journals which document the history of the October Revolution and the young Soviet state. Tens of thousands of copies in various languages were distributed around the world and they served to uncover the counterrevolutionary nature of Stalinism.

This album describes the life and fighting career of the famous boxer Muhammad Ali. Ali was not only a genius in the ring but was distinguished as well by his quick wit^ sharp tongue and intellectual gifts. In the 1960's and 1970's he became a social and political phenomenon with his rejection of Christianity, which he described as a "religion of the slave owner" and of the prevailing bourgeois patriotic norms of American culture. His conversion to the Moslem faith and his refusal to be drafted into the American army, for which he suffered in his career, were a defining political credo for hundreds of thousands of young blacks. King does a fine job of presenting this colorful figure to the reader.

How the GPU murdered Trotsky

This giant album measures 28 cm by 44 cm and was printed in 1976 by the International Committee of the Fourth International. It was designed and prepared to be used as a ready made poster during demonstrations and Public meetings in order to scandalize the Stalinists and their liberal allies. The supporters of the Fourth International would hold this album above the heads of the crowd and call attention to the photos and documents. The album contains a wealth of materials about the preparations by the Stalinist secret police, the GPU, to assassinate Trotsky, about GPU spies inside the Fourth International, about their activities even after Trotsky's murder and about the continuing conspiracies of American imperialism against the Trotskyist movement.

Этот огромный альбом-плакат размером в 28 см на 44 см был напечатан в 1976 году Международным Комитетом Четвертого Интернационала. Он был задуман и приготовлен в качестве готового транспаранта во время демонстраций и митингов для протестов против сталинистов и их либеральных защитников. Сторонники Четвертого Интернационала могли держать альбом над толпой и привлекать внимание присутствующих к фотографиям и документам. The Great Purges, Written by Isaac Deutscher, Edited by Tamara Deutscher, designed by David King. Published by Basil Blackwell, Oxford and New York, 1984.
The text for this album was written by the well known British historian Isaac Deutscher, a biographer of both Trotsky and Stalin, for a series of radio broadcasts by the BBC in 1965. The book was put together by his widow, and illustrated and designed by David King using the materials in his extensive collection.
