I have been playing in the SCA for years and have been to the campfires
where the bawdy songs are told as well as original and more period pieces.
Recently I have begun to throw my hat into the bardic arena here in
Ansteorra and would like to perform more period music. I would also like
to compose my own songs, but since I know little of how period music
sounds, I would hesitate to write my own stuff. Herein lies the problem.
I do not read music well. How does one find an acurate tune to written
period music? Does anyone have tapes of these songs that are copyright
free? Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a 5 month old child and it
is difficult to get out of the house for local bardic meetings. Any ideas
anyone has would be most welcome.
Thank you,

Antoinette
