And that name was made up at the spur of the moment and doesn't

There is a lot of creativity in recreating, actually. There's also a
lot of creativity required to play properly ornamented music, too.

And in my kingdom, instrumental music is not unusual at all at a
"bardic circle". Perhaps this is a regional difference.
