Greetings,

I really like the mix-and-match tape idea. Maybe we could start a tape =
mailing circle? Someone starts by sending a tape with one of their =
songs to the first person on the list. That person adds a song to the =
tape and sends it to the next person on the list. The shipping cost for =
a tape is not that expensive, and this would be a good way to spread =
"local" songs.

This would be even better if documentation and lyrics were included in =
the package. Allowing those on the list to copy for individual use =
would be nice, but that's something I'd include on the lyric sheet.

I'd be willing to start something like this if folks are interested.

Astrid

If they don't (and they _really_ should...), there are some folk in
Ansteorra who can show you some good songs. I am assuming you are in
Austin, yes? Then it is a hop, skip, and a jump to Stargate. Hit up =
Master
Avatar for good period songs. Contact Baron Michael Silverhands - he =
has
books. In fact, he has some of Master Avatar's books. If you are up =
this
way (Barony of Namron, northern Ansteorra), let me know you are coming =
and
I'll share what I have, or hook you up with Master Michael and his =
library.
He supplied the Greenwood Singers with good music for many years. In =
the
Elfsea area, talk to Baroness Xene. I understand they were trying to =
get
some musicians together not too long ago.

I like the idea of sharing tapes. Maybe we should all shove our =
excessive
humility in the corner and actually tape ourselves, making copies to =
trade
at big events. Send some to Pennsic, Estrella, or Gulf Wars. Throw all =
the
tapes in a helmet, then pull one out at random. One for one, no =
repeats,
can't take home one you brought.

Ulf Gunnarsson
Ansteorra
