Subject: St. George's Day announcement


     Let all know that on Saturday, April 23, 1994, in the
Barony of Carolingia (Boston, MA), there will be a Feast for
St. George, which shall include a noble "crested" tourney, a
melee fought according to standard combat conventions, a
fine dinner, and a performance of "The Knight of the Burning
Pestle" in the evening.
     Festivities shall begin at 11 am and shall conclude by
10 pm.  The revels will take place at the Kennedy Middle
School at 655 Lexington Street in Waltham, MA.  Please do
not bring alcoholic beverages onto the premises.
     The autocrat for the event is Christian von Jaueregk
(address all correspondence to Michael McAfee, 142 Middlesex
Road Apt 1, Chestnut Hill, MA  02167, (617)739-5544). Prices
are $6 for the day and $11 for those who wish dinner (there
will be a limit of 150 on-board spaces).  For information
about the feast, please contact the head cook, Lady Caitlin
Davies (Jane Waks, 82 Montclair Ave., Waltham, MA  02154-
3067, (617)891-3057 before 10:30 pm).  Make checks payable
to "SCA, Inc.--Barony of Carolingia," and send reservations
to Lady Guendalina Francesca di Antonio Cristiano (Susan
Coveney, 55 Tappan St., Everett, MA  02149-3920).  To
receive beforehand the rules for the tournament and other
information for your enjoyment of the event, please enclose
a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your reservation.

Directions:
     From north of Boston:  Find your best route to I-95
south in eastern MA.  Take exit 27A.  You are now on Totten
Pond Road.  Follow from ** below.

     From south of Boston:  Find your best route to I-95
north in eastern MA.  Take exit 27A.  At the end of the
ramp, bear left at the fork.  Go straight through the
lights.  You are now on Totten Pond Road.  ** Follow this
road until it ends.  Take a left on to Lexington St.  At the
next light, turn right.  The first building you see is
Kennedy Middle School.

     From Boston:  Find your best route to Rt. 20 to
Waltham.  When you see city hall, turn right on to Church
St, then left on to School St, then the next right on to
Lexington St.  At the third set of lights, turn right.  The
first building you see is Kennedy Middle School.
