Hi all, Tibicen here (again).

This was brought up at a Mitgaard meeting, but not sent over the list,
so here is.

I know that Thanksgiving vacation is much, much too far off to think
about now :}, but people get pressured into making travel plans early,
so I'm informing you now.  Every year there is at least one
Thanksgiving dinner that is open to all SCAdians (of late, there have
been two).  The one I attend is in Dorchester in a grand old house
known as the Buttery that can seat at least 40 (that's how many of us
there were there, then) together.  It's potluck (the hosts supply the
Turkey(s), and many other good things), and the food is usually
wonderful and pleantiful (Tibicen's seond law: if everyone bring
enough food for 8 people...  there will be eight times too much food!)

I'm assuming it's going to be held again this year, and I'm planning
on going, and would be glad to pick up anyone from MIT who'd like to
go (if more people than can fit in the car want to go, we'll hope on
the T).  Consider yourself invited, even if you've just joined us (or
especially).  If home is too far away to make the trip for a weekend
or is otherwise not an option, don't despair: there is merriness and
good company for you here.  Don't feel that you must make plans to get
out of town for the holiday, there will be things to do here.

Likewise, SCAdians will be holding parties on and about Christmas.
(There's also an event in western MA which is traditionally just after
finals...when it's not snowed out.)
