Rick was pulling your leg, and it came off.  You might also be unaware
that Carolingia is more Italian Ren than anything else -- in deference
to our Baron -- and that the name is unrelated to that of Charles the
Great's Empire; although we do sometimes pun on the similarity -- as
in our newsletter, the Carolingian Miniscule.  We are named after the
Charles River, which runs through the midst of our Barony, and figures
prominently on our Arms.
