Tibor, as we spoke on the phone tonight, here is the announcement.  My
address is cassells@adsinc.com on the internet.  It was a pleasure
talking with you, perhaps we might meet at Pennsic or before.

Highland River Melees     June 25

Come for the shooting, the fighting, the arts, come to spend the night,
or just come to enjoy.
The Shire of Highland Foorde invites you to our annual bone-crushing,
brain-scrambling, hide-tanning, overnight bash.
There will be melee fighting and lists.  All fighters wishing to help
judge the Arts & Sciences (there will be BELLY DANCING) should bring an
original poem to be read at the Bardic Circle Saturday night.
There will be target archery!  On one range, there will be royal rounds
run, interchanged with advancing soldier targets recognizable as SCA
fighters, such as Duke Sir Michael of Bedford.  On a separate range,
Master McDougalls of Rivendell (East Kingdom) will be teaching novices
with loaner equipment.  Master McDougalls received his peerage for
archery, and can probably teach most everyone something.
The Arts and Sciences competitions will include needlework,
illumination, dance and others.  The winning fighters in the melee who
have submitted a poem, may choose which category to judge, and the
others may be appointed the rest.
There will be a scrumptious feast, followed by a Bardic Circle well into
the night.  The site is dry by day, discreetly wet after dark.
There will be activities for smalls; a Quest is anticipated.  There is
playground equipment nearby

Troll will be $5 per person off board.  $10 on board before June 1, $12
after June 1, $20/$40 per family.

The site is the Jonathan Hager House in Hagerstown, MD.  From the East
and West, take I-70 to I 81 North.  From the North and South, take  I-81
to Exit #5, Halfway Blvd (first exit north of I-70).  Go east past
Valley Mall on right.  At the 3rd traffic light past the mall, turn left
onto Virginia Ave, (US 11N).  Continue straight through 2 traffic
lights, (US 11 turns left , do not turn with it), past the city park
lake on left.  You will come to a stop sign at a traffic circle.  Go
around the traffic circle 270 degrees, and enter the park.  Go straight.
 Hager house is on the right, across the railroad tracks.
