howdy! i was the lsat elected treasurer although red jen and i are
trying to switch it over to her since i am far to hosed to attend
meetings at this point and am not very accessible.  so here's what you
have to do as treasurer:
prepare a budget-each term you have to submit a budget proposal to
finboard. they will have a meeting and decide how much money to allocate
the group for the term. if you are unhappy with how little they gave
you, you can file an appeal. it is really important to get things in on
time up there (although they hardly ever give them back on time :-)!)
collect receipts-after finboard has decided on how much to give the
group, they hold it for us. you have to submit receipts to get
reimbursed for what you spend.  you just have to collect the receipts
fill out a white form in the finboard office (5th floor student center)
and pick up the check in a few weeks.
other than that there isn't much to it. just to be at meetings so you
can tell everyone how much money we have and decide on how to spend it
:-)
at the moment finboard is in shambles. the president, vpres and
treasurer all resigned last term and they are trying desperately to get
organized so the job could be a little more hectice next term than usual
. .my advice: photocopy absolutely everything you give them becaus ethey
will lose it.  good luck!
