OK, we're talking 6th century. You didn't mention what music you'd
appreciate: something that sounds 20th century, or something that
sounds like something, anything, before 1600?

I have yet to see anyone dead set against educated extrapolation back
in time. Yet most folks who are interested in those obscure eras
(obscure in terms of written records) will use modern music. I
appreciate period lyrics; in this case, were I asked, I would
recommend a musical approach that would jive with what little we know
about the 6th century and music. And no, it doesn't sound anything
like the 20th century. Of course, if I wasn't asked, I probably
wouldn't stick my nose in.
