ferch Cadwr:}  Here's the scoop on the new membership and waiver
requirements for fencing and heavy list.

--- If you are learning to fight or fence, you do not have to be
a member to come to practice.

--- You will need to be a member to be authorized and fight or
fence at events.  The \$12 Associate Membership is fine.

--- After January 1, 1994, you must be a member and have the new
version of the membership waiver on file in order to fight,
fence, do combat archery, scout, or be a chirurgeon or
waterbearer or banner bearer within the lists.

--- It takes the Registry 6-8 weeks to process new memberships,
but if you send a SASE with your fees they will send a
confirmation of membership before they process everything.  Also,
you should keep a copy of the signed waiver.  The confirmation
and xerox of the waiver can serve as proof of membership until
your card arrives.

--- If you are currently a member, you need to sign the new
waiver and get a new membership card.  The correct waiver is on
the membership form marked revised 9/93.

--- I have waivers here tonight for people who need new
membership cards and will send them in en masse.  I'm not sure if
the Registry will send the new cards to me or directly to the
individuals.

There were no fighting events last month.

Practices continue on Sunday evening.  Come and learn to fence.

Brendan Olthursson Veassullurd:}  The next Towers meeting will be
on the third Monday of the month as usual.  The meeting will be
7pm at my house.

Aschehyrst} {\minsl Lord Li Kung Lo:}  We had to change our name
slightly to satisfy the heralds.  It looks like the creation of
Aschehyrst is a done deal.  The Kingdom Seneschal thinks we will
probably be listed as an Incipient Canton as of the January
Pikestaff.  I am the provisional Seneschal.  Lady Nicolette
Bonhomme is the provisional Mistress of Arts and Sciences.  Lady
Caitlin fitzHenry will be our pursuivant.  We will have an
organizational meeting shortly after the December Council
meetings.  It will be open to anyone who is interested.  I will
have more details next month.

Blackmane:}  We played about 5 hours of music at University.  We
are preparing for the Moon Viewing event.  The vocalists are
working on authentic 12 century Japanese music.  After the event
we will start working on Christmas and other holiday music.

Lo:}  Practice continues on Sundays regardless of the weather. 
In bad weather we will do indoor stuff like fletching and string-

meeting will be on November 21 from 2-5pm at the home of William

Anton of Winteroak:}  We have been meeting here and there at
various colleges.  The next regular meeting is Wednesday,
November 10 at 7:30pm at the Baron and Baronesses home.  The
meeting will be focused more on learning new hands than planning
guild projects.

For ``Ow! Damn!  I think I have broken my leg.''  She is bored,

stuff has been tabled since she is bedridden.

Knight of the Burning Pestle} are over.  We got enough people. 
Rehearsals will be Sunday at 7pm in MIT room 4-402.  Lord
Alexander the Storyteller is in charge of those.  The play
involves some 20 people and will be performed at the St. George's
Day event on April 23.  Alexander will need help with props and
costuming once the performance date is closer.

Sebastian Nightwind:}  Rehearsals are on Tuesday at 7pm in MIT

November 6 there will be an organizational meeting and brunch at
Alexander of Kiev's home.  People can show up starting at 9am.

fighting or just offering moral support should attend.  We will
be getting a demonstration of how to make quick, cheap armor from
a plastic barrel.

It looks like we at least broke even on this time but we may not
have covered the loss from the blizzard date.  323 people
attended.  We will be getting our deposit back.

everyone who helped with University.

I am still taking reservations.  I am looking for volunteers with
freezer or fridge space who can store some of the feast and bring
it to the event.  Also, we need strainers and soy sauce bottles. 
Talk to me if you can loan us one.  If you have a tea pot, you
might want to bring it with you.  I have the full menu for the
feast if anyone wants to see it.  It's an authentic Japanese
feast and will be good for both meat-eaters and vegetarians.

I have a limited supply of loaner garb available.  Talk to me if
you think you've reserved some or want to borrow garb.

site autocrat.  If you want to dine in traditional Japanese
style, bring a cushion to sit on.  Set up beings at 11:30am.  We
need volunteers for gate, set up and clean up and a herald.  The
event is November 13.  The price is \$14 on-board, \$7 off-board.

There will be a poetry reading contest.

a post-revel at Fujimoto Saburo and my home after the event.

Valley:}  I have a site, an announcement and a cook --- Lady
Caterina Sichling von Nurnburg.  I will take volunteers for
everything.  The event will be February 5 at the Cambridge
National Guard Armory from 10am to 10pm.  There will be a
Baronial Court.  The site can accommodate everything except
archery.  The price will be \$10 on-board, \$5 off-board.

The Cooks Collegium in the Barony of the Bridge will be the
following day.

If anyone is interested in learning about being an autocrat and
would like to be deputy autocrat, talk to me.

Yevsha:}  The site selection is down to two places.  I'm looking
for volunteers to take charge of set up and clean up.  The date
is March 5.

von Jauregk:}  Lady Guendalina Francesca di Antonio Cristiano is
the co-autocrat.  Thomas the Unnamed is in charge of set up. 
Lady Dante de Felice is running the kitchen.  I need a volunteer
to take charge of clean up.  The site is the United Parish Church
in Brookline, better known as the Duello site.  Fighters won't be
able to go down on their knees.  I am taking to Master Arval and
the Company of St. Michael about help with the tournament and
pageantry.  The play, {\em The Knight of the Burning Pestle} will
be performed.  The date is April 23.  After talking to several
people, plans to hold the Ladies/ Champion tournament at this
event have been cancelled.

Master Anton of Winteroak:}  The last time I talked to anyone at
the Shakespeare Oxford Society was before University.  Two
representatives came to University to take a look at what we do
and they have not been in touch since.  Since their event is fast
approaching, I'm going to take this to mean that they are no
longer interested in having us come.  I will call and let them
know that that is what we are assuming.

We have \$4490 of which \$3485 is available.

I have opened a new bank account for the Barony and will
gradually be closing out the old account.

Autocrats need to fill out financial forms.  I have copies if you
need them.

Each chartered guild is entitled to \$50 a year from the Barony. 
To claim it, all you have to do is submit receipts for your
expenses and get a reimbursement.

Marian of Edwinstowe and I were thinking that it has been a long
time since the last Ladies' Champion tournament.  We want to try
and hold one in late May.  The emphasis of the event will be on
the tournament.  We will be talking with the Baroness about this
and start looking for a site.  Can we do this.

ago when I read the charter one gentle noted that it really
shouldn't be in a poster frame and took it to reframe it.  Thanks

Academia is meeting on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at
my home.  The only requirements to attend are being able to read
and argue.

total lunar eclipse on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.  We will be
making observations at the observatory.  If you are interested in
helping, talk to me.

be a poets meeting on December 10.  There will be no meeting in
November.

woodworkers meeting on November 28 at my home starting at 11am.

Table scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled and rescheduled
to Tuesday, November 23.  I am encouraging people to come.  If
more people get involved we will have better events.  One of the
topics will be budgeting.

planning on holding a May Day event on Sunday, May 1.  Isolde of
Esprilia and Bess of Fenmir are the co-autocrats.

major bardic event the last weekend in January.  There will be a
contest for the positions of King's and Queen's Bard.  The East
Kingdom College of Bards will be having trials for the different
ranks.

for the Pikestaff lick and stamp parties is:  January 18 at
Harald Longfellow's home, February 18 at Juliana d'Antoche's
home, March 18 at Fujimoto Saburo and Torogene of the Steppes'
home, April 18 at Brendan Olthursson Veassullurd's home.  The
February and March dates may be shifted one day earlier since
these are Fridays and there may be an event the next day.

There will be a meeting on Sunday, November 14 to explain how 3rd
class mail works.  The site might be at fencing practice.  Call
me to confirm the location.
