The East Kingdom Domesday Boke Good Gentle, I am endeavoring to compile a Domesday Boke of the East Kingdom. It is a private project, wholly my own responsibility, though I have the aid of many volunteers. I pray that you will see fit to entrust me with your names and contact information, and in turn I will strive to keep that information secure. My goal in this project is to further the cohesion of the Kingdom in these uncertain times, and I welcome all volunteers who would help me in this. This Boke is not a telephone directory, though in the future a telephone directory might be generated from it, it is merely a register of all those people who consider themselves citizens of the East. The specific permissions asked for in the questionnaire concern the dissemination of your personal data in phone books and on Internet directory services. If you do not wish to allow others to be able to find either your mundane or Scadian information in those directories, you can still have the other data appear. Likewise if you wish to be in the register, but never have any of your contact information available to the general public, that is also fine. Please, if you have any questions or concerns about the Boke, do contact me: Vanessa Layne (Lady Tibicen Blackmane); 10 Palmer St., Arlington, MA 02174; 617/643-3443; dagoura@mit.edu Statement of Distribution and Access Policy I am well aware of the issues of privacy which this Boke raises. I cannot guarantee absolute security, but I will be strictly limiting access to this information. I will not relinquish the Domesday Boke to anyone save my successors and such deputies as I choose to appoint. I will not permit any individual, group or institution the use of any data, such as the mailing addresses or phone numbers, in the Domesday Boke for the sale of commercial products or services; I will not permit any other organization or organization's representative to use the Boke's data for the purpose of soliciting for donations. I will not permit use of the Boke's data by any organization which is not a Medieval or Renaissance "living-history" or recreation group. However - I may in the future permit the Boke or its data to be used by organizations other than the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. Thus, should the East Kingdom incorporate separately from the SCA, Inc., I might grant that new corporation equal access to this contact list. Likewise, any splinter groups which form might be permitted access to the Boke's mail list. All such access to the Boke for contact purposes shall be at my, or my successors', discretion. All such uses would be "escrowed" through a bonded mail house. No publication of any material in the Domesday Boke shall happen without the permission of the individual(s) to whom the information pertains. Submission of information to the Domesday Boke shall be considered permission for that information to be included in the Domesday Boke, and agreement to distribution and access policies here set forth. Submission of information to the Domesday Boke shall not be considered permission for republication beyond the policies here stated, especially the publication of phone books or address lists for the general public. Only those records for which release permissions were granted would be published in a phone book; it is possible to have only one's SCA Name and SCA Group be published, if you so wish, or only your mundane information. All such further publication would be done at my, or my successors', discretion. Vanessa Layne (Lady Tibicen Blackmane) C.T.: T B
