Not everything that happens in the sca happens at events. It is the focus
of many activies, but lots of other things we do are just fun.

For example, the Carolingian Storytellers Guild. Every month, on the 15th,
a bunch of people get together at this guys house, and tell stories. This
being the sca, these are mostly period, or period-oid stories. They always
welcome new people, even if they literally have nothing to say. Food and
drink are requested offerings of those who wish to remain silent. Typically
something as simple as a bottle of juice or soda, and/or perhaps a bit of
bread/crackers/etc.
"So, why does he bring this up?" I hear you asking. Well, this month, the
15th is on a friday, which means I can go, and I thought many other people
should be able to make time, as well. So, I'm organizing an MIt invasion,
brining as many Mitgaardi to this as we can.

It should be lots of fun, no pressure, no garb required, and it's T accessible.
Again, this is happening friday, Oct. 15th. I don't remember who's house
it's at, but I'll post all that, later. Just thought I'd get you thinking
about it.

On another topic:
Last fall, we had a herald (Tibor, a most amusing and pleasant person-personality) come to one of our meetings, and give us a bit of a view into
what it's like to be a herald. He gave us lessons on voice-projection (the
art of making yourself heard above the rabble---an undeniably useful skill in
all walks of life). He told us some things about finding names.
So, I've invited him back. I expect wednesday will be the chosen date
again, as people who can make it to meetings tend to be more vocal (don't feel
like you have to drop out of the group because you're busy on wednesdays, most
of our activities are other nights). He said he'd be delighted to come (he's
like that). Now we need to decide on when we want him here. I expect sometime
after university will be best, as everyone will be less hectic, then.
He said he could probably bring some naming books. These are big books,
full of names. They're great. (Honestly, I wasn't too thrilled with choosing
a new name. I was quite content with what I had. But then I looked around
a bit, and found this one, which is really one of the original Gaelic forms
of my mundane name. I grew attached to it. I like being one of the few
(perhaps only) Cinaeds in the entire world).

So, these should both be fun. Let me know if you have any interest in either.
I expect this year I won't be lame, and will actually have Tibor come down
twice, once not on a wednesday, for those of you busy those nights.

Thanks for your time
Cinaed
