Subject: Bearkiller on Board

Hi folks --

I just got off the phone after a pleasant conversation with
Duke John the Bearkiller of Meridies, who indicated that I 
was welcome to pass along to the net the fact that he'd been
offered and accepted a 5-meeting appointment to the SCA, Inc.'s
Board of Directors.  (I'm assuming this means five of the
regular quarterly meetings, not counting special meetings.)

  Duke John indicated that he believes the Board does need to
be accountable to the rest of the Society, but that he feels
we need to take our time and listen to lots of input before
putting any formal procedures for accountability in place.

  He asks that people refrain from contacting him with questions
about what the Board's done for a while since it will take him a
week or so to get the files.  He welcomes letters and input right
away at the address below.

Also, he has a young baby and would appreciate no calls after
