I do not think of this as hate mail, unless it strays into the realm of the personally insulting. However, in a phone conversation two weeks ago with A.J., he mentioned that the Board was having sort of an informal, cynical "who gets the weirdest mail" comparison. He said that his weirdest receipt was of a black and white postcard showing a '20s gangster riddled with machine gun bullets, and the unsigned notation on the back, "Step down or else". This I *do* consider unacceptable. This is not constructive, nor is it remotely courteous. I have to say that A.J. had more of a sense of humor about it than I would have, had I been the recipient.
