  Interesting, Tibor.  I know that *I* am interested in that letter
  and the perception of Carolingia it shows.  But I also see that
  the reference is to an incident fifteen years ago.  I don't really
  know whether that reputation of Carolingia was valid then.  I would
  be even more interested to know what people think of Carolingia today.
  Is Carolingia still seen as insular?  And is it true?

I don't know what everyone things, but I don't think it is still held to be
true.  I know that you (and your predecessors) have worked very hard to make
it untrue, as have we all.

But, I think it's important once in a while to reflect on things like this.
It may have been just one person, 15 years ago, but it lasted.  We *are*
Carolingia, and should try to remember that.  End of sermon.
