Unto the barony of Carolingia, greetings!

In case you haven't heard, Felding will be holding a demo this Thursday
(the 10th) from 7:30 to 10:00 pm, at McAfee hall.  Anyone wishing to attend 
is heartily welcome. Please come and be willing to share your favorite 
parts of the SCA with the eager college students who will (hopefully) 
abound there!! :]

I will be at the bell desk at 7:00 to start letting people in who need to 
set up, want to be early, etc.

And now, down to brass tacks...

THE INFAMOUS DIRECTIONS!

If you're driving, take the Mass Pike to Route 16 West (exit 21B). Follow 
route 16 West for 3 miles to the town of Wellesley, go straight on 135, and 
take a left at the third traffic light.
You should now be on the Wellesley campus.  Now comes the tricky part...
parking. You have a choice; risk getting a ticket and park in Gray Lot, 
which is really close to McAfee, or avoid the risk and park in the Alumnae 
Lot, which is all the way across campus. Up to you.
	To Get to Alumnae Lot
After taking the left turn to get on to the campus, take the next turn on 
the right.  This should lead you right into the Alumnae Lot.  Park there, 
go back out to the main college road, take a right, and walk, following the 
main road for about a 10 minute walk. You shoulfarther down the road you 
should meet up with a more modernish looking building that doesn't seem to 
be finished.  (This is the Wellesley Science Center, by the way)  Trek 
along the main road some more until you are on the far side of the Science 
Center and take a _left_ (this will be the only left you see on this walk). 
Follow this street up until you see some squarish brick buildings on your 
right.  There should be a sign saying "Freeman" and three flights of stairs 
leading up.  Go up the stairs past Freeman and Bates. McAfee is on the end. 
The living room where the event is being held is right inside the main 
McAfee door.
	To Get To Gray Lot
After taking the left turn into the campus, follow the main road until you 
reach the modernish building that doesn't look like it's finished yet.(the 
Science Center) On the far side of the Science Center take the first left 
turn you see.  Follow that road past 3 driveways (1 right, 1 left, 1 right) 
and turn into the parking lot on your left.  Park the car, go back the same 
way you came in, and go up the first driveway that you see (it should be on 
your left).  McAfee will be straight ahead of you.

	BY T AND RAIL
There's no easy way of getting to Wellesley by the T.  The best solution is 
to find your way to the South Station red line stop or the Back Bay orange 
line stop, and take the Framingham Commuter Rail outbound to WELLESLEY 
SQUARE (this is VERY important as there are three Wellesley stops) It is 
the LAST Wellesley stop.  Leave the rail station parking lot and turn 
right.  You should now be on 135 (the main drag, lots of tiny expensive 
shops, etc.) Follow the main drag past Sam Goody's(on the left side of the 
street), then past Lauriat's (also on the left), and you should be at a 
very odd looking three-way stop. There should be a sign saying "Wellesley 
College" on the left side of the street, and some big arch things. THIS IS 
A FOOTPATH ONLY!! Turn into the arches and follow the road past the parking 
lot to the first driveway (on your left). Go up the driveway and McAfee 
will be straight ahead of you.

IF YOU GET LOST
Stop at any one of the blue on-campus phones (they're marked by blue lights 
and are generally in front of doorways and such), and dial 5113. This calls 
the McAfee bell desk.  I will answer the phone and give you directions from 
wherever you're calling from on campus.  If you're calling from off campus, 
dial 283-5113 (same result).

Sorry about the lengthy instructions, but I hope no one gets lost!
