The Barony of the Bridge and the Canton of Trollhaven once again invite all
dancers of the East Kingdom to the Black Rose Ball on March 5, A.S. XXVIII
(1994) at the Memorial Union in at the University of Rhode Island in South
Kingston (no street address - same site as the last five years).

Music will be provided by the excellent Fillii Musicae from the Barony
Beyond the Mountain. Doors will open at noon for an afternoon of dance
instruction until 6pm. From 6pm to 7pm there will be a break for dinner. At
7pm the dancing will begin and last until 11pm. Light refreshment will be
served throughout the day, but no formal meal will be served. The site is
dry, and, my apologies, there is no space for merchants.

The cost for the day is a mere $5 in advance, or $6 at the door. Students
will receive a $1 discount. SInce there is no feast, there is always room at
the door. Half-price for children under 15 and free for children under 6;
however, no day care facilities are provided. Make checks payable to "SCA,
Inc. - Barony of the Bridge". Send reservations and crash space requests to
the autocrat: Aonghus of Clan Campbell (Vahan A Mikaelian, 23 Venice St.,
Providence RI 02908-2909), 401-273-0255

Directions: From the North: Take your best route to I-95 and proceed to Rt 4
South. Rt 4 South will eventually become Rt 1 south. Continue on this until
you reach the intersection with Rt 138 west. The restaurant "Tavern on the
Hill" is on the corner, as are a gas station and an old wooden fire tower.
Signs for the University of Rhode Island will be posted. Take a right to
proceed west on Route 138. Once upon it, proceed through one intersection
with a stop light, then take a right at the next, which is Upper College
Road. ** Take your first left, then take a right at the stop sign. There
will be a semi-circle/bus stop before you with several large buildings
nearby. The one across the street from you to your left is the site, the
Memorial Union. For parking, take a left (at the stop sign) down the hill.
If there are no spaces at that point, follow the road as it curves right at
the bottom of the hill. Turn right at the second stop sign. Parking lots are
at the next intersection, a large one to the left, and two more smaller ones
to the right. The site is nextx to the one that is farthest right.

From the South: Take your best route to I-95 North, then take exit 3A to Rt
138 East. Proceed to Kingston and the University of Rhode Island. While
passing the campus to your left, go up the hill to the traffic light and
take a left. This is Upper College Road. Follow above from the **.

Signs will be posted at Upper College Road and on the URI campus. Maps
available upon request.
