1    Pound of Italian hot sausage meat
1    Pound of dried split peas
8    cups of water 
1    cup of diced potatoes (peeled or unpeeled)
1    cup of diced carrots
3/4  cup of diced onions
1/2  cup of  chopped celery
1    teaspoon of dried marjoram
1/2  teaspoon of pepper
2    Bouillon cubes

Follow directions on package to prepare the split peas for cooking.

In skillet brown hot sausage meat; drain off fat and transfer to crock pot. 
Stir in water, peas, potatoes, carrots, onions, celery, marjoram and pepper. 
Add in bouillon cubes. 
Cover and cook on low heat setting for 10 - 12 hours or at high for about 8 
hours. Before serving, stir mixture, season to taste with salt.
Since the original recipe for this soup has been changed by me considerably 
you can safely state that it's "Mom's"
