If so, great. I get on board and set sail. If not, well, I set off in search of her (Waveskimmer, not Shoshana). In either case, when I'm a few shadows from Atlantis, I'll stop and call Caine. After that, it's off to start seeding Morley Blacks through shadow. You know, just conjure people named Morley Black, who have a penchant for nautical naughtiness and a love of the sea. Some are women (these are the fiercest fighters), some are men (these are the most romantic and dashing), of various races and types. The complete Morley Black seeding plan is likely to take longer than I have before dinner, so I'll work it this way: I'll put myself on a course through shadow, stopping at shadows that will do a good job of harboring Morley Black types, such that I end up back at Atlantis in time for dinner. So when I end up back in Atlantis, I know I've seeded as many as I can in the time allotted. Iskandar claimed that he was not himself when it happened. Consensus among the younger generation is that one would expect the Keeper of the Logrus to be able to deal with a deranged newly-minted Logrus Initiate. Speculations of Conspiracies both intricate and complicated abound. "However, things seem Tense enough in the Courts to warrant the recalling of a Notable Number of children from out of their hiding places and homes in shadow. Whether this has anything to do with the increasingly common incidents of Violence against certain Houses is unclear to me, and very few were willing to delve into anything approaching great detail. "At the present time, I was about to return to dinner with some half-dozen of that very same younger generation, recently come out of shadow. "It is amazing to me how many individuals in the Courts can discern one's Pattern Imprint merely by gazing upon one. Of course, using The Pattern's abilities makes such a thing much easier, but I was amazed how simple it seemed, even when I was quietly sitting, trying not to be too obtrusive." He laughs. "And there, in the middle of Chanicuttways, with a Pattern Inititate sitting quite plainly in sight, it was the Ardasi whom they asked to leave. The Jasby, of course, knew better than to even set foot inside. Clearly, the Great Houses of Chaos are a greater danger to themselves than anything from Amber could ever be." He snaps his fingers and adds, "Oh yes, and that was after I met Nathan. He's Random's son, isn't he? Seemed a pleasant enough fellow." I want a quick ramp-up for these early versions, so I think I need to provide them with crews. Later versions will have the time to collect their own crews around themselves, but for right now, I'll start them with loyal crews. The MBs themselves should be fairly permanently conjured. The plan is to sail through shadow and find pirate crews whose captains have been captured by the authorities. My MBs replace the old captains (primarily by saving the crews from the gallows-- my MBs also just escaped from the authorities and met their old captain while in the stockade--or she's just arrived from a far-off port where she had trouble with the authorities and is looking to carve herself a new name in these waters--she figures she's come far enough) and they sail off to new adventures and bounty. As time goes on, they can refine their crews as they see fit. Oh yes, each one has a mother named Jasmine(?) and a grandmother named Flora. So on my way home from dinner in Atlantis, I provide her with another well-trained crew (Chaos combat and horde) and a ship just like her old one (but without the broken masts, holes, and stuff), and dock them in Atlantis for her. So, for the plan: I think I ask for a tour of the castle and a look at the prisoner from Nathan. I try to arrange it for around a meal time so I can see how she gets fed. Then I assess the security, and whether she's ever in the room by herself. At any rate, the plan is probably pattern teleport in, and then sorcery teleport out to a previously selected spot in the city, then trump out to Atlantis where her ship awaits her. (An alternate plan is sneak in disguised as a maid, but that probably won't work. I'll check it out anyway, incase it's feasible.) The spot in the city should have disguises, make-up, changes of clothes, and so on, in a state that suggests that some of them have been taken and/or used by people who have just left in a hurry. Right. I suspect she may want to see/walk the Pattern, so I should come up with a contingency plan for that. I would still be interested in having you to dinner sometime. I would like to look into places closer to Amber that you think might be of interest. Or meeting any people that you think find me interesting. I expect nothing so formal as a tour, as those can often be troublesome. Thank you for your kind offer of a dinner engagement. As I have become more learned in the ways of politics in the Courts, I realize with chagrin how much danger and difficulty just the presence of such a mere personage as myself might (and did) cause due to my heritage. Therefore, I could not conceive of allowing you to put yourself, or indeed your House, to any inconvenience on my account. Please do not mistake me; I would enjoy the opportunity to pass a pleasant evening with you over dinner conversing with one another.
