Home Our Group Bible Study Events Quiet Time

We are a community of Asian American graduate students and working professionals in the Greater Boston area seeking true fellowship ("koinonia") in Jesus Christ. We warmly invite you to take a break from your studies or work and join us.

ABSK originally started in UC Berkeley in 1982 by Rebekah Kim JDSN, who is currently a Baptist chaplain of Harvard University and leads Harvard ABSK. It has since spread to different parts of the country such as Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Washington DC. Currently, there are ABSK chapters at University of California at Berkeley, Columbia University, University of Washington - Seattle, University of California - Davis, University of Maryland, to name a few.

Our counterpart, ABSK - MIT, has been in existence since 1991. But as the body of graduate students grew, there was a need for a group that is dedicated to the graduate students' needs. Thus, ABSK - Graduate Division at MIT was formed in the Fall of 1998 to foster the fellowship and spiritual growth among graduate students and working professionals in the Boston area. Since then, we have grown to meet the spiritual needs of many graduate students and working professionals. There are other graduate chapters of ABSK at Boston University Dental/Medical School, Tufts Dental/Medical School, and Harvard Dental/Medical School, along with the original group at MIT. On each campus, we hold a weekly Friday Bible study to learn God's words and have fellowship with one another.

If you are unfamiliar with Christianity or have never investigated the claims of Jesus, we invite you to "come and see" the Bible Studies and Fellowship. Come to meet new friends, grapple with the Bible, and ask tough questions. For our part, we will strive to make you feel welcomed and help you in any way we can.

If you are a Christian looking for a spiritual home, we invite you to "come and grow." Our goal is to provide a loving spiritual family for every believer to grow and do the good works, which God has prepared each of us to do. All in all, we share our lives together and commit to one another to live out the message of Jesus Christ.
