Facilities: |
Games are played in Steinbrenner Stadium on the MIT campus.
This is a full size grass facility. In addition, two grass practice
fields are located on campus. |
Length of Season: |
Tryout/preseason period begins approximately August 20th.
After a 3-5 day tryout period, the team is selected. Regular
season games start the first weekend of September and run through the end
of October. Post-season play will run through mid-November. |
Time Commitment: |
For the preseason period, we practice twice per day with
team meetings or activities in the evening. Once classes start we practice
from 5-7 pm on weeknights. Each week in season we typically play 2
home games and travel to at least one away game per week. Our longer
trips are traditionally scheduled for Saturdays. The overall time
commitment is 20-25 hours per week including travel. |
Attendance: |
Attendance is required at all team practices, games, and
scheduled events with allowances made for class and other academic conflicts.
All conflicts must be communicated to the head coach in advance. |
