logical-to-physical device mapping.
The Disk View window includes:
Basic Operation
---------------
You can drag-and-drop objects in the Metadevice
Editor window to the Disk View window to establish
color mappings between physical and logical devices.
Title Bar
---------
The top bar contains the version of DiskSuite
Tool and the host name. It also displays the
diskset information, either for a local
diskset, or the name of the shared diskset.
Canvas
----------
The center viewing area where physical mappings are
displayed. The canvas has scrollbars to control what
part of a display you can see.
The canvas displays controllers with their associated
disks. In addition, if you have a SPARCstorage Array
online, the Disk View canvas displays iconic information
about the current status of the SPARCstorage Array.
SPARCstorage Array Information
-----------------------------
Fibre-channel icon represents the SPARCstorage Array
controller.
World Wide Number: The Disk View canvas displays the last
four numbers of the SPARCstorage Array's World Wide
identification number just below the controller icon.
To see the whole 12-digit World Wide Number, display the
Controller Information window for the array.
Frames around disks: SPARCstorage Array trays.
(SPARCstorage Array 100 has a frame-within-a-frame)
(SPARCstorage Array 200 shows just the disks within
the tray frame, with no SCSI bus in the tray.)
Down-arrow icon represents stopped disks.
Wrench icon signals "needs maintenance."
Wrench and fan icons signal a failed fan or too
high temperatures.
Wrench and battery icons signal low NVRAM battery.
Note: The Controller Information window also displays
information on failures.
SPARCstorage Array Pop-Up Menu

You can display a pop-up menu for a SPARCstorage
Array tray, for a disk within the tray, or for
a slice within a disk.

(Normally, you use this feature only if you cannot
get access to the SPARCstorage Array. Otherwise, use
Object --> Sync Cache to flush all outstanding writes
for the selected controller.)
-Sync NVRAM
Flushes all outstanding writes for the selected object.
-Fast Write
- The fast write feature increases write performance
by using the NVRAM in a SPARCstorage Array.
The submenu selections are:
Disable: to disable the fast write feature.
Enable: to enable the fast write feature.
Synchronous: to enable synchronous fast writes.
-Reserve Disks
Reserves a disk for exclusive use by a host.
No other host can use the disk until the disk is
released from the host.
If DiskSuite Tool is run on a host other than
the host issuing the reserve command, a status
of "Reserved" is shown for those disks in the
Information window, and a "lock" icon appears
under the disks in the Disk View canvas.
-Release Disks
Releases a disk from exclusive use by a host.
-Start Disks
Starts disks in a tray.
-Stop Disks
Stops disks in a tray.
NOTE: For SPARCstorage Arrays you must stop all the
disks in a tray to stop one. Normally, then, you would:
-Unmount all file systems on the disks in the tray
-Stop all applications that access the disks in the tray
-Stop the disks
Legend/Color Drop Sites
-----------------------
The bottom part of the Disk View window contains
the Legend, an area that includes color drop sites.
The color drop sites enable you to map physical-to
-logical associations by colors.
For example, to see all the slices that contain state
database replicas, drag the MetaDB object from the
Metadevice Editor window to a color drop site.
DiskSuite Tool will use that color for all slices that
contain state databases replicas.
-Getting Information
To get information on a color drop site, position
the mouse over the drop site and click the third
button. Select Info... from the pop-up menu to
display information windows.
-Clearing Color Drop Sites
To clear the color drop site (return it to the
"unassigned" status), position the mouse over the
drop site and click the third button. Select Clear
from the pop-up menu.
Toggling the Legend/Color Drop Sites
The Legend can be toggled on and off by the
