Configuring SCSI in the BIOS

The VMware GSX Server BIOS supports SCSI access through an option — ROM — that is enabled when one or more SCSI devices are configured in a virtual machine. The ROM option supports input and output operations to SCSI devices and enables booting from SCSI devices. Bootable SCSI devices (only disks at this time) are presented in the BIOS setup's Boot screen.

You can reach the BIOS setup screens by pressing F2 when a virtual machine is powered on or reset. The VMware GSX Server BIOS lists the first seven bootable SCSI devices configured for the virtual machine so you can select the order in which these devices are booted.
