Rachael

Hi, I'm Rachael Beaumont, the Area Director to Baker House! I was born and raised in Lawrence, KS where I got my undergraduate degree in Theater Education at the University of Kansas before moving to Lincoln, NE to get my Masters in Student Affairs! I've spent some time in the Midwest working before coming to MIT where I'm excited to share in the experiences and the traditions with every student here! I'm a regular at the gym so if you see me say hi! I love trying out new recipes, exploring the city, watching baking shows, and can never go wrong with a good board game! I hope you'll swing by for a chat or a cup of coffee!

GRAs

A Graduate Resident Advisor (GRA) is a graduate student at MIT who lives in the undergraduate community and serves as mentor, advocate, and resource for the students. Baker has 10 GRAs including a Leadership GRA who helps with the Baker Leaders program. While the GRAs focus on their individual areas on floors, they are available to the whole community as a resource. Meet our Baker GRAs!

Hi! I’m Jenny, and I am a PhD student in the Economics department, interested in topics of labor, public, and behavioral economics. I grew up in Baton Rouge, LA, went to college in Chicago, and worked in San Francisco for several years before coming to MIT for grad school! I love hot chocolate, being outdoors, walking and biking around Cambridge, playing competitive ultimate frisbee, and trying new arts and crafts. And I’m Judah! I am a software engineer for a start up in the Bay area meaning I work remotely full time! I grew up in New York City before going to school in Chicago where I met Jenny. I enjoy biking around the city of Cambridge, finding new spots in the city where I can work, trying out new recipes and playing ultimate frisbee! Why Baker First West is the best: One WEST is obviously the BEST because we have that first-year excited energy, enthusiasm, and passion!

Hi! I’m a MD Candidate in the Harvard Medical School-MIT HST program with research and clinical interests in neurorestorative translational and systems neuroscience. I grew up in Maryland and did my undergraduate degrees in (you guessed it!) systems neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University. Before coming to MIT/Harvard, I spent a year and a half working on translational neurosurgery (a bit of a theme) at Johns Hopkins Medical School while simultaneously perfecting my Pilates routine. I love low impact workouts, talking about brain fun facts, exploring Boston, multi-tasking watching cartoons and studying, and all things self-care (I have way too many face masks)! I am SO excited to meet you all :)))!!!
