We developed a type of laser timing counter applied in pendulum experiment, Moment of inertia experiment, and other periodic movement experiments. This laser timing counter uses U-shaped laser generator to record the motion information and then compares it with the time information generator by a 24 MHz quartz crystal oscillator. The result is accurate to the 5 millisecond. Idea Originated From:When students conducts experiments, such as pendulum experiment, they will use stopwatch to calculate the period of the motion of the pendulum, which I find inconvenient and also inaccurate.
