The Shanghai Jiao Tong University Intellectual Vehicle (SJTUIV) Club designs and builds intellectual vehicles, especially marine vehicles such as AUVs. Our Club is one of the ten key student scientific and creative labs in the University and we have received quite a bit of support from the both university and industry professionals because of our successful performance.

SJTUIV is co-founded by Qian Peng and Fan Dixia (now CTO of the Club) in November, 2009. The Club is entirely undergraduate-run, and consists of more than 50 students ranging from freshman to senior undergraduate and graduates including three MS. students and one Ph.D. More specifically, they are coming from 6 different majors of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

This Club aims to attract more students to engage in scientific research and engineering, specifically intellectual vehicle technology such as underwater marine vehicles and ocean engineering. And also this Club offers a great opportunity for the undergraduate students to gain knowledge and experience from working in the  interdisciplinary environment and achieve their own inspiration.

As our club gradually getting bigger, we desire to integrate our knowledge, experience, technology into the real-world projects. From 2011, our club began to design the 30-m autonomous green-energy-powered Multi-hull sailboat "Harmony". And in October 2011, the 2.047m scale model has been successfully tested.
