Plymouth/Wayzata
Plymouth, MN, Northwest suburb of Minneapolis... Wayzata, MN, smaller suburb that donated it's name to the local school district for historical reasons.
I grew up in Plymouth on Polaris Lane, just north of County Road 9, and attended Wayzata High School, class of 2000, Wayzata East Junior High, and Plymouth Creek Elementary School. Our mascot is the trojans, and yes, I've already heard whatever joke you're about to make.
Starting senior year of high school (Fall 1999), I worked in a lab in Plymouth called En•fate. We tested water samples from exotic places like Missouri and Iowa for a chemical called atrazine. I washed a lot of test tubes, but I learned a lot, especially from my boss, Frank De Steno. He keeps trying to tell me "No good deed goes unpunished," but I insist on being more optimistic than that. His other good advice: "Be all that you can be... but avoid the army." I worked there the summer after freshman year as well, but now the company, at least the lab portion, no longer exists.
A lot of my childhood was spent with my friends, playing pick up softball games, building forts in the marsh behind my house, and messing around in the snow during one of the many great Minnesota blizzards. (Did I ever tell you about the time I went to Wolfridge in sixth grade? We got 54" of snow and we got stuck there an extra day and... I've been told I tell that story too much. Forrest does a decent impression of me and some say tells the story better.)
