Welcome to Fenway HouseFenway is a coed independent living group for students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. We're about 20 men and women sharing a large five story house in the Back Bay of Boston. We're a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute bike ride from campus. InfoTrying to get to Fenway? DirectionsCurious about how the house works? Read the Way of the Fen (HTML, PDF); think of it as a blueprint for life at Fenway. For the morbidly curious, we have a copy of our standard sublease agreement available. Also, a copy of the Fenway House Constitution is available online. Fenway House is always open to new residents; we generally only take MIT students. We have an open bid policy. That means transfers and second-year undergrads can choose to live here after they've spent some time getting to know the house. We are not open bid for upperclassman and graduate students. They have to be approved at a house meeting before they can move in, but that is usually a simple matter. ResidentsFenway tends to fill with cool people. We have all kinds here from all over the country and from all over the world. Most majors are represented and residents have a variety of interests. Current Fenbeings are majoring in computer science, electrical engineering, math, biology, political science, Earth and Planetary Science, Aero-Astro, Physics, History, and many have concentrations and minors in Theatre and Literature. Our residents are members of the Shakespeare Ensemble, MITOC, Rugby, Musical Theatre Guild, Gilbert and Sullivan Players, and many other student groups. Our most famous alums are probably Ryan Lackey and Lori Berenson. Lori is a journalist accused of aiding Peruvian terrorists; she's currently serving a long prison term in Peru. Ryan owns a small company called HavenCo that's a data haven based out of Sealand, a country consisting of an offshore military platform near England. Photos of the house and Fenbeings...Enjoy! AreaFenway House is located in the heart of the Back Bay. A five-minute walk gets Fenbeings from the house to Boston Symphony, to Fenway Park, to the Museum of Fine Arts, to the Prudential, to Copley, and everything in-between. The Back Bay is teaming with restaurants, bars, cafés, and nightclubs. Across the street from our house is the Back Bay Fens, a large park cut through by the Muddy River, with extensive lawns, public fields and basketball courts, and a beautiful rose garden. HouseAt Fenway House, there are singles, doubles, and
triples, and each room is unlike any other, with its own unique murals,
lofts, and history. Between our kitchen, breakfast room, music room,
dining room, and library, Fenbeings have space to spread out and enjoy
life in the whole house. Fenway House, unlike most off-campus living
places, has a significantly lower rent than dorms, and rent includes food! |
DESSERTNITE: every Wednesday at 10pm. All are invited! Boston East Saferide, 3rd stop, we're at 34 The Fenway behind the red door. |
