Supporting the Innovation Cycle

Incubation-Innovation CycleHistorically, many innovations in educational technology at MIT have remained within the domain of the original creators. OEIT acts as a conduit to communicate the availability of new educational innovations more widely to faculty. It facilitates the adaptation and adoption of innovations, wherever they may have been developed, to improve teaching and learning at MIT.

OEIT does not do this in a vacuum. We collaborate with educational technology service providers such as IS&T, the Libraries, and MIT OpenCourseWare directly and through frameworks such as ACCORD.   We also work with educational support services in DUE, notably the Teaching and Learning Lab (TLL) and the Office of Faculty Support (OFS). Overall we work with our partners to ensure that educational innovation and technology applications are supported as sustainable services.
