Anadama bread
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Cook 2/3 cup cornmeal in
- 2 ½ cups water, add
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 3 Tablespoons oil
- 1/3 cup molasses - let cool to lukewarm; add
- 2 Tablespoons yeast dissolved in
- ½ cup warm water. Stir in
- 6 ½ cups flour.
Knead thorougly (100 - 200 times if you like to count); let rise to double in bulk; punch down & knead some more; shape into loaves; place in oiled bread pans; let rise almost to top; then
Bake 30 min or so in 350° oven.
