Configuring a virtual machine

Before you can run a virtual machine, you must configure it. You can create your virtual machine configuration using the Configuration Wizard or the Configuration Editor. If you are a new user, it is recommended that you use the Configuration Wizard to set up a virtual machine. You can edit your virtual machine configuration using the Configuration Editor.

The set of configuration parameters for each virtual machine is stored in a configuration file (.cfg). You can modify the configuration of a virtual machine while it is powered off. Certain configuration options may be modified while a virtual machine is powered on, such as options for removable devices and similar parameters.
